Is reusable secondary packaging better than disposable packaging?

Reusable secondary packaging is preferable in many of the studies, both when disposable packaging is made of fibre-based materials or plastic and when reusable is made of plastic. Take-away and tableware packaging is either preferable in reusable packaging or lacks an environmental impact difference between disposable and reusable packaging.

The literature review identified the current state of scholarly articles comparing disposable and reusable food, beverages and e-commerce packaging. Based on these insights, and with an aim to make the knowledge base more complete when making decisions between disposable and reusable packaging, we propose the following research directions.

How to evaluate the quality of plastic containers?

The quality of plastic containers are evaluated by considering the following important tests: Measurement of Dimensions: A micrometer height gauge is used to measure the different dimensions of the Containers. The height is recorded as the mean of the two readings and the accuracy or measurements shall be 0.1 mm.

The important performance tests are given below: Closure Leakage Test: The plastic containers are filled with Colored water up to nominal capacity or the material to be packed at ambient temperature and the closely tight with the closure.
