Reactor AC for inverter is installed next to the inverter between the inverter and water pump. The drive output reactors can smooth filter, reduce motor noise and help prolong the life of the water pump; reduce the leakage current caused by the output higher harmonic, and protect the power switch devices in the inverter.

The reactors that match the inverter are generally divided into two types: AC Reactors (input reactor, output reactor) and DC reactor. In actual applications, the corresponding reactor should be selected according to different situations.

What is the difference between AC and DC reactors?

AC reactors reduce harmonics, mitigates transient conditions and helps to maintain proper phase to phase voltages. DC reactors will also mitigate harmonics however it will provide more harmonic attenuation than a equally sized AC reactor. The DC reactor will reduce current transients through the rectifier that are resultant from voltage transients.

To choose a line reactor for an AC drive, identify the inverter’s supply input voltage and phase, rated power, Fundamental Current, Inductance and desired reactor Impedance.
