What happens when a solar cell is lit?

When the solar cell is lit, a potential difference occurs between the electrodes. When the cells are loaded with resistance R, current flows through the circuit. The highest value of the current is called short circuit current Isc and occurs when R = 0 Ω. If the cell has the highest load, the open circuit voltage Uoc occurs.
