What is an uninterruptible power supply (UPS)?

An Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) is defined as a piece of electrical equipment which can be used as an immediate power source to the connected load when there is a failure in the main input power source. In a UPS, the energy is generally stored in flywheels, batteries, or super capacitors.

What happens if a Switchboard Supply Source is lost?

Switchboards S1, S2 and S3 have only one supply source. The network is said to be of the arborescent radial type. If a switchboard supply source is lost, the switchboard is put out of service until the supply is restored. What is a ups & how does it work?

The Core Function of a UPS: At its most basic, a UPS provides a continuous source of power to connected devices, even during power outages. It achieves this by storing energy in batteries and converting it to AC power when the primary power source fails.

What is a low voltage switchboard backed up by an inverter?

LV switchboard backed up by an inverter, with a generator to eliminate the problem of the limited autonomy of the battery (usually about 15 mn). See Figure 9.
