How much electricity does a solar system produce?

According to our calculator, a 4.5 kilowatt (kW) system with 12 panels would produce on average 4,100 kilowatt hours (kWh) in a year, enough for a 3 bedroom house. However, there are a range of factors that can affect how much electricity your solar panels produce, from the efficiency of your system to the angle of your roof.

How much energy does a 16 kW solar system produce?

In northern states like New York that average ~4 peak sun hours per day, a 16 kW system would produce closer to 62 kWh per day in its first year (assuming 2% conversion loss). In California and sunny southern states with closer to 5.5 peak sun hours per day, production should be slightly over 85 kWh per day.

How much energy does a 100 watt solar system produce?

A 100-watt solar panel installed in a sunny location (5.79 peak sun hours per day) will produce 0.43 kWh per day. That’s not all that much, right? However, if you have a 5kW solar system (comprised of 50 100-watt solar panels), the whole system will produce 21.71 kWh/day at this location.
